Material Handler for Production Line

Basic Function:

Responsible for movement of material in and out of the production area. Setting up assembly lines and movement of finished goods. Works closely with plant supervisor, warehouse, and shipping.

Departmental Responsibilities

• Ability to read and report work orders, includes understanding bill of material.
• Keep area clean and organized. (Making sure what parts needed for the job are the only parts on the assembly line)
• Ensures component parts needed for assembly job in process are the only components on the assembly line.
• Setting up lines along with Team Leader/Lead Assembler.
• Stage jobs for assembly.
• Ability to read, understand and follow the production schedule.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Making sure packing material is kept stocked up.
• Ability to use pallet jack or hand truck to move parts in production area.
• Maintain label and quantity on all parts in production area.
• Follow instructions as directed by supervisor or management.

Preferred High School Diploma or GED

Forklift experience

Previous experience in material handling in a production/manufacturing environment is preferred

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. as part of the job function.
